Toward Healing the Relationship with Mom (for Adult Daughters)
Saturday, May 25, 2019
9:30am ? 4:30pm, Shelton, WA
About this workshop: Our earliest source of empowerment and connection comes in utero and in very early childhood through our mothers. Women with a damaged or broken bond with their mothers may find it difficult to access a feeling of grounding and safety. This experiential workshop will gently lead you toward healing and resolution of this primary relationship whether your mother is living or not, or whether you even want to have a physical connection with her now.
Facilitator: Lou Ellyn Jones, “Find Your Voice” Coach, EFT Practitioner and writer. For info about Lou Ellyn and the use of EFT in her work, please CLICK HERE.
Hosted by: Cathay Webb. Cathay is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with an office in Shelton, Washington.
What we will do: Lou Ellyn will walk us through a day of writing, drawing, and reflection, combined with EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques or “tapping”). Participants can expect to feel an increase in awareness, compassion, and appreciation for themselves, their mothers, and their maternal lineage. Plus they will learn some tools to use at home to assist in their journey toward self-discovery. Download Detailed Agenda (pdf) HERE.
We will use several types of Emotional Freedom Techniques or “Tapping”):
1) “Picture Tapping” (quick drawings while tapping to access the “metaphorical” mind, gain awareness, and get out of the stories we run and into the greater meaning behind them.
2) “Surrogate Tapping” (tapping “about”, “to” and “as” our mothers, to put us in the shoes of another and process and resolve difficult feelings.
